👑 A Sweet Reminder from Queen Gracelynn!
The Sweets for Soldiers initiative wraps up this Friday, November 7th so there’s still time to spread a little sweetness! If you have any leftover hard candy from your fall festivities, send it to school with your student so they can drop it in the Sweets for Soldiers collection box in Ms. Tami’s office.
I am so grateful for the kindness and support our community continues to show. Together, we’re sending smiles—and sweets—to those who serve our country! 💛🇺🇸

🎖️ Sweets for Soldiers! 🎖️
Hi everyone! Gracelynn is collecting hard, individually wrapped candy through November 7 to send to our brave men and women in the Armed Forces around the world! 🇺🇸🍬

She has a collection box at Gallatin County School in the elementary office. If you have any extra parade or spooky season candy at home, please consider donating. Even just a few pieces can make a big difference! Just place it in a Ziplock bag and send it to school with your child. It’s a sweet way to support our troops and teach kids the joy of giving back!
Thank you so much for your support!!

A message from Gracie -
✨ What an amazing summer it has been! ✨
The support I received from the Shawneetown community during Coal Days gave me the confidence to reach even further—and I was honored to be crowned Miss Saline County Fair Queen in July.

I am so excited for the year ahead and the chance to celebrate and advocate for the deep agricultural roots of both Gallatin and Saline Counties. 🌾

In August, I loved visiting with Shawneetown businesses, delivering donuts, and sharing conversations about our wonderful community. Yesterday, I had an “All Star” time at the Popcorn Days Parade ⭐🍿, and tomorrow I’ll be at the Shawneetown Library from 3:30–6:30 for the Library Card Sign-Up Event. I’ll even be doing face painting—so bring the kids and stop by! 🎨📚

Thank you all again for the encouragement and kindness. I can’t wait to continue this journey together! 💛

👑 Queen Gracie has been out and about in Gallatin County today spreading sunshine and summer smiles! ☀️ Gracie made a special delivery to the community food boxes in New Haven, Ridgway, Equality, and Shawneetown—stocking them with tasty items perfect for a hot summer day, including everyone's favorite… freeze-and-eat popsicles! 🍧🧃 An added bonus? She got to chat with some amazing kids who had just wrapped up the Laughs in the Library with Miss Zoe event at the Shawneetown Library 📚😄 What a fun and refreshing way to spend the day!

🎉 The final day of Coal Days was one to remember! 🎉 Queen Gracie had an incredible time participating in the parade and loved every moment of connecting with the community. From the cheers along the route to the warm conversations throughout the day, she was grateful to meet so many new people and hear thoughtful suggestions for future community events. 💛A special thank you goes out to the Coal Days Committee, Shawneetown Fire Department, Southern Illinois Resource and Advocacy Center, Sandpiper Florist for donating the beautiful flowers for the pageant, TK Vinyl Signs for donating the parade car magnets for the queen, and every person and business who generously donated their time and resources to keep the Coal Days tradition going strong. 🙌 Gracie is honored to represent Shawneetown and is excited to continue making a positive impact in our communities. 👑
