Cleveland County Schools Project Search Project SEARCH is a one year high school transition program that provides intense job training in non-paid internships at a partner business.

Project SEARCH is a one year High School Transition Program focusing on transitioning young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to school-to-work. This program provides real-life work experiences that take place entirely at the workplace. Project SEARCH is a business-led model of school-to-work transition with total workplace immersion, which incorporates a seamless combination of classroom instruction; career exploration; and hands-on, work site-based training and with job coaching support. The goal of each intern is competitive employment. Project SEARCH was developed at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and has been implemented at 13 sites in North Carolina. There are more than 300 sites across the US and abroad. This transition model activities are tied the the following IDEA Indicators: 1 - Graduation 2 - Dropout Rates 5 - Least Restrictive Environment 8 - Parent Involvement 13 - Compliant (Quality) IEP's and Transition Goals 14 - Post School Outcomes Each Project SEARCH program site has a licensing agreement signed with Project SEARCH Cincinnati through Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
