I am grateful for the conversations, the encouragement, the questions, and the opportunity to meet so many people throughout our community. Regardless of the outcome, this experience has reinforced my appreciation for the people who care deeply about the future of our county and who are willing to stay engaged in the process.
Public service is ultimately about listening, learning, and working together. I appreciate every person who shared their thoughts, attended the forum, asked tough questions, and took the time to vote. Thank you for being part of that process and for your commitment to our community.
I remain optimistic about the future and thankful for the opportunity to have been part of this journey.

I still believe government must be transparent, responsible, and focused on the needs of the people it serves. Budgeting with mindful purpose also means recognizing when tax dollars are no longer needed for the purpose they were originally collected. County government should regularly review programs, levies, and spending commitments to ensure taxpayers are not carrying unnecessary burdens year after year out of habit or bureaucracy. When goals have been met, debts have been paid, or reserves are healthy, we should be willing to have honest conversations about reducing or returning that burden to the people. Responsible government is not measured by how much it collects, but by how wisely it manages what the people entrust to it.”

I believe performance speaks louder than promises, especially when it comes to how taxpayer dollars are spent and how decisions are made for the people of Toole County. Every tax dollar belongs to the people of Toole County, and I believe those dollars should be handled with common sense and transparency.

While we must address the challenges facing our county today, we also have a responsibility to think about the future we leave behind for the next generation. The decisions we make now will shape the opportunities, communities, and quality of life our children and grandchildren inherit. I believe we can build a future that protects our rural values, supports local businesses and workers, encourages responsible growth, and keeps our communities strong without losing what makes this county special. The future belongs to all of us, and it should be built together with vision, responsibility, and common purpose.

Over the past couple weeks I have heard more and more about how people are struggling with rising cost of living and producing the commodities that feed our country. Families across this county have had to make tough financial decisions, and county government should live by the same common-sense principles. Taxpayer dollars should be spent carefully, responsibly, and with clear priorities in mind. People want to know their money is going toward essential services, infrastructure, public safety, and the long-term needs of the community — not unnecessary projects that lack accountability. Good stewardship means respecting every dollar the public entrusts to its government and making decisions that strengthen the county without placing unnecessary burdens on taxpayers.”
