Go vote YES for EMS. Do your part for your friends, family and neighbors. You never know when or where tragedy may strike. Ensure that there will be an EMS agency or certified provider close by at a moments notice with appropriate training and equipment to make a difference.

PSA-We are getting word that people are not seeing the EMS question in the ballot. I am told that it is on the back. Make sure you are turning the ballot over and completing both sides.

Tomorrow is the big day! Please help us make one last push getting the word out on how important Voting YES For EMS is tomorrow. In summary, we are asking for support from the residents of Page County to Vote YES for making EMS an Essential Service. This allowing EMS services in Page County to receive financial assistance to help get people trained, certified and stay certified in different levels of EMS. This will help get a certified and qualified person to your emergency in a timely manner with the appropriate equipment to care for you and your loved ones. This will also help keep services in the smaller communities across the county in service. The cost of doing business continues to increase and the reimbursement from insurance companies continues to stay at 35% or less. This does not cover the loss that we take every day being at the ready to respond at a moments notice. The help that your YES vote will provide will come at the cost that’s less than one trip to a fast food restaurant, for most families. This is us asking for your help to help make EMS a sustainable public service in Page County for the unthinkable moments that we hope and pray never happen to you or your loved ones! Please reach out for any last minute questions you may have. Please like and share tonight and tomorrow!

This is most certainly an extremely difficult story to watch but unfortunately is a reality we face in rural Iowa. This is an incident that happened just 90 minutes east of us and was covered by KCCI. This is a nightmare scenario that crosses our minds way too often...

While many surrounding counties continue to declare EMS as an essential service, EMS services here in Page County are currently not. Our voters have the opportunity to make that happen next Tuesday! Please take the time to VOTE YES for EMS!

For the past decade EMS leaders across the state, including many here in Southwest Iowa, have been discussing the need
for EMS system improvements. Emergency Medical Services in Page County and the first responders they support have relied heavily on reimbursements and donations, both of which are dwindling.

If the gap between reimbursements and costs continues to grow, Emergency Medical Services may not always be there when you or your family members need them most.
