Sherman Independent School District The mission of Sherman ISD is to inspire and challenge all students to reach their full potential.

Sherman ISD maintains a social media presence for the benefit of the community. This page will be updated with information regarding school events and activities, the achievements of students and staff, and other relevant information. Sherman ISD monitors the posting of comments and other information on the district’s social media accounts and has the ultimate discretion to determine whether the c

ontent of a posting is appropriate or inappropriate. A post that is determined to be inappropriate, as further defined by these rules, shall be immediately removed by the district. The intent of this policy is to protect the privacy and rights of Sherman ISD staff and students, and to ensure that visitors to the sites are not subjected to inappropriate content. These rules are supported by Sherman ISD Board Policies GKDA (Local) and GKB (Local). The post threatens physical violence or is obscene, vulgar, or sexually explicit;
The post endorses actions that endanger the health or safety of students or others;
The post promotes illegal use of drugs, alcohol, or other controlled substances;
The post contains statements that are defamatory, abusive, or violate a person’s privacy;
The post itself violates the law or encourages others to do so or advocates imminent lawless or disruptive action and is likely to incite or produce such action;
The post contains hate speech or similar language that offensively attacks any group (e.g., racist, sexist) or contains content aimed at creating hostility and violence, and would materially and substantially interfere with school activities or the rights of others;
The post does not relate to the topic of the information posted by the District (e.g., if a post references an athletic team winning an award, comments should relate to that topic)
The post violates the intellectual property rights of another person (e.g., do not post all or part of a copyrighted work without the permission of the owner; do not cut and paste images or logos from the internet that may be protected by copyright or trademark rights);
The post is an advertisement for good/services or is “spam” (i.e., repeatedly posting the same comment(s) for the purpose of advertising/promoting a service or product);
The post violates federal or state law or any Board policies regarding the protection of employee or student privacy or the confidentiality of employee or student records;
The post promotes, advocates, or electioneers for or against any candidate, measure, or political party or the post constitutes political literature (except as permitted by state law);
There is reasonable cause to believe that posting the information will result in material and substantial disruption or interference with school activities or the rights of others. Sherman ISD is not responsible for the content posted on this page by site visitors and does not endorse any content posted by site visitors. The district reserves the right to block or restrict users who repeatedly post content that violates these guidelines, consistent with applicable law and district policy.

Inspiring the next generation of women in STEM! ❤️ Sherman High School hosted the first day of the inaugural Girls in Gear ⚙️ summer camp, with support from Austin College!

This STEM program is bringing together incoming 6th grade girls from both Sherman and Denison ISD who are interested in robotics 🤖, engineering 🔧 and more! Tomorrow, they’ll visit GlobalWafers America and ASSA ABLOY Denison Operations to explore future careers 💼 before heading to Denison High School on Thursday!

We had a lot to celebrate at tonight’s School Board meeting! 🎉 Trustees David Tarvin and Wendy Vellotti took the oath of office for new, three-year terms, and the Board reorganized for the coming year, electing Jennifer Shelby as Board President, Nathan Cain as Vice President and David Tarvin as Secretary.

Trustees welcomed amazing students from Fred Douglass Early Childhood Center and Perrin Early Childhood Center to lead the 🇺🇸 pledges, and Tyson Foods was honored as this month’s Community Partner for their generous support of SISD events and activities.

Our 2025-26 Teachers, Staff and Volunteer of the Year were recognized for outstanding contributions to our students, their colleagues and the Sherman community:

🌟 Elementary Teacher of the Year - Daisy Martinez, Washington Elementary School
🌟 Secondary Teacher of the Year - Gena Graham, Jefferson Learning Center
🌟 Employee of the Year - Katie Flippin, Crutchfield Elementary School
🌟 New Teacher of the Year - Katie Denton, Sory Elementary School
🌟 Volunteer of the Year - Brooke Bond, Neblett Elementary School
🌟 Team of the Year - Elementary School Counseling Team

The Board also honored an incredible group of Sherman High School students for academic and athletic accomplishments! 🏅
