Unbelievable how low Bruce will stoop to try and sway people with his lies. He claims the board is controlled by the PCCA? What a ridiculous assertion. Bruce and Maura are just mad they don't have the board majority anymore.

If Bruce and Maura hadn't mismanaged the village's money in the first place, we wouldn't be in this situation financially.

Congratulations to Joseph Johnson on winning yesterday's MBV election. Winning a write-in campaign against corruption is not easy and should speak volumes to the community. Hopefully the new balance of the Village board will put a stop to the corruption we have seen in our local government over the last year.

Betty Manzella is heard here stating supports raising taxes, and she has voted YES to hundreds of thousands in expenditures outside the budget, ranging from personal lawsuit payments to secret PI firms. Yet, she wants you to believe she has conservative views but her voting record proves otherwise.

As of press time, the only candidates whose names will appear on the ballot for two trustee positions in the March 15 Mastic Beach Village election are incumbents Betty Manzella and Bruce Summa. At last night's work session Mayor Spery, Trustee's Summa and Manzella revealed a secret plan to commit what appears to be insurance fraud. The board passed 3-2 an additional $2,600 in fees to be paid by the village for survey costs associated with the MBPOA settlement. When costs were questioned by Trustee Anderson, he was told the MBPOA would NOT pay for half this cost, and the Mayor, using her block of votes (Summa and Manzella), would be altering the transaction date of the settlement to 2011, and will then will open an insurance claim for over $100,000 to fix marina 5. This, to many, appears to be a plan to commit insurance fraud. If this plan comes to fruition, how much will it cost the taxpayers? What insurance company will insure us now that our Mayor and board majority have released these plans to open a potentially fraudulent claim in the near future? Please keep these things in mind when voting this March. The residents of Mastic Beach must demand Real Transparency from our leaders!

Betty Manzella's opponents removed from ballot by the Suffolk County Board of Elections, where she is currently employed as Deputy Elections Commissioner. This appears to be yet another form of corruption, removing choice from the ballot.

The battle for two trustee positions in the Mastic Beach Village election has taken an unexpected turn after the Suffolk County Board of Elections ruled on the validity of claims against nominating petitions for both parties seeking a spot on the ballot for the March 15 election.

Mayor Spery, Bruce Summa and Betty Manzella hired a four time felon who was arrested and charged with a 5th felony while working at the village. They hid everything about it from the board until this press release hit the papers. Even after this was made public, they continued to back him and praise his work, despite multiple complaints being lodged against him and the village.

On April 6 2015, One of the first acts in office by Bruce Summa and Betty Manzella were to pass resolutions to pay personal lawsuits for the mayor, deputy mayor, and clerk using tax dollars.
