The NWS Heat Risk is forecast to be major to extreme through Friday across central Indiana with some improvement in the Heat Risk across northern portions of central Indiana expected Friday. The NWS Heat Risk is a color-numeric based index that provides a forecast risk of heat related impacts to occur over a 24-hour period. Heat Risk takes into consideration: How unusual the heat is for the time of year, duration of the heat including both daytime and nighttime temperatures.
