Notice of Boil Order Update. Shoals Municipal Utilities customers residing on East River Road and in the Sawmill Ridge addition will continue to be under a boil order due to ongoing work on the main water line. These customers may also experience low water pressure or a complete loss of water service. The order will be lifted once water samples are confirmed to be safe.

*****SHOALS MUNICIPAL WATER FOR THE EASTSIDE OF SHOALS IS UNDER BOIL ORDER EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY******

The Shoals Municipal Water Department announces that water pressure is expected to be fully restored throughout the town within the next few hours. A boil order will be in effect for all customers on the eastside of Shoals until further notice.

The Boil Water Order has been issued as a precautionary measure to prevent the potential ingestion of harmful germs or chemicals in the water.

Residents affected by this advisory are advised to boil their water for at least 5 minutes prior to consumption by humans and pets. The water is safe for bathing purposes.

The Boil Water Advisory will remain in effect for a minimum of 48 hours or until two consecutive water samples pass testing. A subsequent notification will be issued once the Boil Water Advisory is lifted.
