Today we had a critical 2 car mva Rollover with fire, thank you for all of my first responders for all their team work threw a tough situation. And we want to say a huge thank you to Olive fire department, Woodstock Rescue, Kingston Fire, Olive Police, Sheriff’s deputies, NYS Troopers and all others that came out to lend a hand. We are a community that is so great-full that we are always there for each other. 🇺🇸🚒🚑🚓

We’re in danger of running out of the humans willing to keep climbing into ambulances.

Think about that.

The ambulance can be replaced.
The stretcher can be replaced.
The monitor can be replaced.
The paramedic eventually can’t.

Call after call.
Overdose after overdose.
Car wrecks. Suicides. Cardiac arrests. Sick kids. Violence. Death.
Then clear the call.
Clean the truck.

And get ready for the next person having the worst day of their life.

Meanwhile, Saskatchewan EMS continues dealing with staffing pressures, increasing call volumes, recruitment problems and burnout.

We keep asking:

“Why is the ambulance taking so long?”
Maybe we should also be asking:

“How much longer can the people inside those ambulances keep doing this?”

Because you can park a brand-new ambulance in every Saskatchewan community.
It means absolutely nothing if there isn’t a healthy paramedic willing to sit behind the wheel.

We don’t just need more ambulances.

We need to start taking better care of the humans inside them.

“Never forget there is a human behind the uniform.”

End Violence Against EMS Providers

The New York State Collaborative EMS Protocols and Statewide BLS Protocols have been updated. All EMS agencies, Medical Directors, educators, and EMS clinicians should review both the updated protocols and the change log to become familiar with the revisions.

Agencies should begin planning for implementation of the updated protocols effective date of September 1st, 2026.
