Disappointing not to have fireworks at the fest this year, but based on the weather this is likely the best option so we can enjoy them another time.

The fest is still on! Just the fireworks are postponed.

CROSSROADS FEST FIREWORKS SHOW POSTPONED TO SEPTEMBER 19

The Crossroads Fest Fireworks Show scheduled for Saturday, August 1, at 9:15 PM, has been postponed to Shorewood’s Oktobrewfest on Saturday, September 19.

We are making this difficult decision in advance due to the forecasted rain and to ensure the safety of all attendees, volunteers, and our fireworks vendor.

We understand the annual fireworks show is a cherished Crossroads Fest tradition, and we appreciate your understanding. We look forward to enjoying the Fireworks Show at Oktobrewfest.

PLEASE NOTE: Crossroads Fest will continue as scheduled; only the fireworks show has been postponed.

Good Morning Shorewood,

I hope everyone is doing well following yesterday’s storms. Our Shorewood Public Works team has been out since early this morning assisting with cleanup efforts throughout the village, and we appreciate their hard work and dedication.

I wanted to provide some clarification regarding the 150-unit apartment development at Black Road and Route 52 and the vote that took place at Tuesday night’s Village Board meeting.

Without prior communication to the Board, the agenda included different language regarding the motions and how the subsequent vote would be recorded. During discussion of the apartment project, Trustee Chapman made a motion to DENY the development. Therefore, the “yes” votes cast by Trustee Chapman and myself were votes to DENY the project. The “no” votes were votes in favor of the development, which ultimately resulted in the project being approved.

I understand this may have been confusing, as it appeared to create confusion for both members of the Board and residents in attendance. I wanted to clarify exactly what occurred so that anyone following this project and vote has an accurate understanding of how the votes were cast and recorded.

Thank you, and please be safe as cleanup efforts continue throughout our community.

Stay safe Shorewood! Our great Public Works staff will be assisting with clean-up.
