We are beyond excited to share the news that the Palominas School District and Wellness Committee are launching their very own Curious Quails program! 🎉👏🎉

Their first community event is right around the corner, on Saturday, November 8th! From 9 AM to 11 AM, you can expect a morning of fun activities, tables, and a community walk along the Palominas Multi-Use Trail! 😀🚶‍♀️🌱

The event will begin at the Palominas Elementary School Gym, located at 10385 Highway 92 in Hereford. 📍

Have you heard the news? 👀

Last week, the Curious Quails and the U of A Cochise County Cooperative Extension team collaborated with Cochise County to install trail signs at the Palominas Multi-Use Trail in Hereford! The signs are a direct result of community feedback gathered during Curious Quails events in Palominas, where community participants shared many ideas for improving the Palominas trail. 🎉👏👏

The signs, obtained through the sunsetting AZ Health Zone (SNAP-Ed) program, provide fun, child-friendly interactive prompts for physical activity and nature exploration while walking alongside the trail. They also provide guidance along the trail in spaces where the trail may become less clear. 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️☀️

This project is the direct result of community input, cross-program collaboration, and a hope to inspire fun and meaningful activity outdoors in the local community. 🧡🌱

Special thanks to the Cochise County team, including Engineering Specialist Steve Schasteen and Developmental Services Planner Susan Bronson, for helping to make this happen. Credit is also due to the AZ Health Zone, Curious Quails, and U of A Extension teams in Cochise County! 🙌

It's been a while! We wanted to share an exciting update: We are looking for partners in Cochise County that might be interested in building and launching their *own* Curious Quails Youth-Nature Program. ✨️

We're offering FREE support, training, guidance, and materials to interested partners in Douglas, Willcox, Huachuca City, Elfrida, McNeal, Pearce, and Sierra Vista. 🌱

It was a warm morning, but we still had a wonderful time exploring the Palominas Multi-Use Trail, looking for bugs, birds, and anything nature had to share! 🦋🦎🌞

Friendly reminder! 🚨

Curious Quails in Palominas will be this Saturday! Join us at the Palominas Multi-Use Trail from 9 - 10:30 AM. 🌞 We'll have nature-themed activities and games, plus tables from some of our local community partners! 🙌✨️ The best part? This event is FREE and open to the community! We can't wait! 😁

Some helpful reminders for Saturday's event: 👇
• Wear your favorite outdoor clothes, so you can explore the outdoors freely and comfortably! 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️
• Don't forget to practice sun safety, using sunscreen, sunglasses, or your favorite outdoor hat! 🧢😎
• Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! We're expecting a warm Summer morning, so it's important to hydrate before, during, and after the event! 💧💧
• It might be helpful to use the restroom before arriving to the event, as there are no restrooms at the Palominas Multi-Use Trail. 🚗🚗
• Lastly, don't forget to have fun! Whether you're joining for a round of Nature Bingo, planting a small vegetable in our planting activity, or checking out our partner tables - We hope you have a great time! 🌱✨️

We'll be at the Palominas Multi-Use Trail (just behind the Palominas Elementary School) from 9 to 10:30 AM. Come for the coloring, and stay for the nature bingo! Or start your own garden with a planting activity! Whatever you choose to explore, don't forget to have fun! 🎨🌱
