The 6th Commitment to Containment is important this season. Get a flu shot.
The Flu Vaccine protects you from a leading cause of death and illness. An influenza infection causes many of the same symptoms we see in COVID-19, such as body aches, fever and sore throat. Protecting yourself from the flu reduces strain on our health care system and reduces stress on you and your family. Getting a flu shot in Summit County is easy and convenient, with little to no out-of-pocket costs.

Did you know that it is Colorado Recreates Responsibly Week? There has been a dramatic increase in visitation to Colorado's outdoor spaces throughout the pandemic. It is more important than ever that we protect the outdoor spaces that we treasure in our state.
To #CareForColorado includes respecting trail closures, not walking on or damaging vegetation, disposing of trash and waste, not picking wildflowers, not touching or feeding wildlife, and following trail etiquette to respect others.
Thank you for recreating responsibly while in Silverthorne and in all of Colorado's outdoor spaces!

Well Silverthorne, I guess Sgt. Dunaway will take a few moments now that she has cost the taxpayers $9,500.00 for her mistake at the USPS back in February 2020. So what does Sgt. Dunaway think about the $9,500.00 settlement the auditor received for her violating his rights back in February 2020? How do these police officers become sergeants when they don't know a simple law like this one; even when the auditor told her it was on Poster 7. She didn't even bother to walk over and read it. https://www.summitdaily.com/news/silverthorne-pays-9500-settlement-to-first-amendment-auditor-following-incident-at-post-office/ Shame, shame Sgt. Dunaway. You might want to listen next time. You might save the taxpayers of Silverthorne some money next time.
Good job, Silverthorne PD. You cost city tax dollars nearly $10k due to your incompetence at the USPS in your city over public photography.

I grew up in Colorado, but now I live in Arizona. I brought my family up here to visit my parents and we decided to come up to Silverthorne to enjoy the First Friday and Lake Dillon over the weekend. We went to First Friday and decided to get some tacos and listen to the "story time". I am sad to say that I am highly upset with the story that was told. At first it sounded like it would be a success story of an immigrant, however during his story he made a statement, "see white people are born with a jump start in life." I immediately grabbed my 3 year old daughter and got out of there. The First Friday I remember was all about love, art and caring spirit, and would allow an environment of political/racist views. I am trying to raise a hard working, strong willed, independent young women and yes she happens to be white. I would never raise her to think that ones color of their skin is the reason they are successful. I think it is disgusting to think "white people are born with a jump start in life," and personally think this type of "story telling" is completely outrageous to have at an event like this. I know that this post probably wont cause any change, and that it will probably land on deaf ears but I hope the organizers of the First Friday read this and consider the message we are trying to send to children.
