Another hugely successful Taste of Simsbury at The Riverview with Simsbury Main Street Partnership!

So much delicious food and beverages brought by the amazing restaurants, bakeries and coffee spots in Simsbury and our neighboring towns.

This is one of my favorite events of the year! I love seeing so many friends and community members having a great time together. This year was even better because my daughter Sarah was in town from NYC and joined the fun.

Had so many favorites it was hard to pick just one.

Simsbury has the best events!

Remember that busses are now on the roads in the morning and afternoon. Prepare for extra time now that bus stops are picking up students. And please keep safe distance from the back of the bus and heed the rules of the bus stop - all vehicles must stop in both directions and no passing a bus in either direction when the stop sign is out.

Ribbon cutting for CT Aerial Yoga in Simsbury this afternoon!

What a fantastic place and wonderful owners who live in town. And a great use of the space. I can't wait to sign up for a class and get in the aerial spandex. Great for all ages and all skill levels.

Very excited to get a demonstration of the new Mobi-mats that have been delivered to the Town paid for by a grant from AARP that I worked on securing.

These light wight and easy to use mats will be a game changer for accessibility on Fields, parks, trails and sand around town for events like concerts at the Meadows, events at Town Forest Park and Stratton Brook, and even sporting events on our town Fields.

The grant covered all costs associated with these including the mats (4 total), the roller Storage carts (2), the metal stakes securing them into the ground as well as taxes and shipping.

I am very proud to be a Champion for accessibility in Simsbury and our community. I can't wait to see these in action.

Ribbon Cutting for the Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center! With thanks to everyone from the town, the state, donors and the PAC for working together to get his addition complete. It is a wonderful space that adds value to the venue. Looking forward o The Indigo Girls and more concerts to come.

What: More than 20 representatives from a variety of local services and agencies will be available at tables throughout the room to answer your questions. Outside, visit the Sunshine Wheels van to learn more about wheelchair-accessible transportation.

Spent the morning at the Junior Police Academy Graduation Ceremony. This annual week long program brings together young students to learn not only about the Police Force, but all aspects of Public Safety including Fire, Ambulance and DPW. The session is planned, organized and run by SRO's Lantiere and Sheahan. A group of 14 enthusiastic students graduated this morning and it was an honor to be there.

We are so fortunate to have access to these program in our community. The relationship with police and first responders and the community is vital to public safety. And makes for a robust and healthy community.

Congratulations and well done. Officers Lantiere and Sheahan do an extraordinary job!
