Following our screening of Abortion and Women's Rights 1970, we will be joined by three of the four filmmakers for a virtual Q&A!

Karen Weinstein has dedicated her life to women's rights. After experiencing an illegal abortion herself, she helped create the film to save women’s lives by showing the dangerous era before Roe v. Wade. Beyond the film, Weinstein continued her advocacy, running for office, serving in leadership roles, and empowering others. She’s held positions like Chair of the California Democratic Party Women’s Caucus, Advisor to Close the Gap CA, and Policy Chair of the American Association of University Women, Berkeley. Named Woman of the Year by Assemblywoman Nancy Skinner, Weinstein has received numerous awards for her leadership and public service, inspiring generations of women.
