As we are all focused on what the weekend snowstorm is going to bring, another fact that may be overlooked is the dangerous cold that is coming with the snow and lingering around all of next week. Multiple nights in to the single digits, as well as negative wind chills. Tips for staying safe in the cold.

🧣Dress in layers, cover skin and limit time outside. Layers of loose-fitting, lightweight clothing will keep you warmer than one bulky layer.
🔥 Staying warm with a space heater? Make sure it has an auto shut-off in case it tips over.
🐶 Bring your furry friends inside when temperatures take a dip!
🥶Freezing temperatures increase frostbite risk. Shivering, memory loss, and slurred speech signs of hypothermia
🚰 Inside the home insulate pipes if possible. Open up sink cabinets to expose pipes to heated air.
🏘️ Check on elderly & other vulnerable people to make sure they are ok.
