Thank you to the Slidell Ladies for Liberty "Painting Ladies" for sharing your time and talents. Here are a couple of zoomed in shots of just a small portion of the beautiful and fun painted boxes delivered by Susan Needom and the Painting Ladies each and every month. Our troops look forward to seeing these creative boxes coming there way to brighten their day. Thank you again to all the ladies that participate in decorating boxes for our troops. You do an amazing job each month and you all are appreciated.

Thanks to all of our volunteers who came out on this very hot summer day to help show our deployed heroes our appreciation for their service. We packed and shipped 82 care packages filled with snacks, toiletries, and reminders of home. Our wonderful supporters in the community helped to make this possible with their donations. We hope our deployed Troops feel the love as they serve our country around the world. We are "Home of the Free BECAUSE of the Brave!" 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙🇺🇸

SLFL volunteer Kelly Lutman stopped by Creole Bagelry this afternoon for a delicious lunch and to pick up the pound bags of Abita Roast coffee donated each month for our deployed Troops. We are so thankful for the continued generous support of Creole Bagelry owner Darren Darby and Abita Roasting Company’s Kyle Ross. Our soldier love this awesome treat from home!

Slidell Ladies for Liberty volunteers enjoyed hosting our monthly thank-a-soldier table at the Camellia City Farmers Market this morning. Families visiting the booth wrote heartfelt notes of appreciation to deployed Troops, while children colored beautiful patriotic pictures to include in our monthly care packages.
The talented and energetic Jahneen McBrayer supplied her hand sewn creations (such as children’s clothes, purses, placemats, coasters, and casserole covers) that were gifted to those making donations to our postage fund. She and volunteer Carolyn Russo worked the booth today that was set up by our thank-a-soldier chair Renee Arsenault. Thanks to these three sweet ladies and to our wonderful supporters.

Slidell Ladies for Liberty is so thankful for the generous support from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office Young Marines. Showing their gratitude to Veterans for their service and sacrifice, the JPSO Young Marines collected snack and toiletry items to be added to SLFL care packages being shipped to deployed Troops serving around the world. They recently delivered the items to Slidell and were met by SLFL Outreach Director Marion McCoy. Some of the items have already been shipped in our July care packages. We are so grateful to these young men and their mentors. Our future is in good hands. 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙🇺🇸

Slidell Ladies for Liberty Board of Directors held our quarterly board meeting at Creole Bagelry, a dedicated sponsor who joins with Abita Roasting Company to provide a pound of coffee each month for every deployed soldier on our list.
The Board discussed issues such as our 501c3 application status, ticket sales for the raffle by Deep South Cruisers benefiting SLFL, and even began preparing for our Christmas cards and boxes. Catholic Daughters of the Americas coordinated a church-wide donation drive at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Mandeville for the deployed Troops supported by Slidell Ladies for Liberty.
