Crews had an eventful day yesterday. Started with an assist to Pulaski Coroners office with a recovery. With assistance from Science Hill VFD

Then dispatched as Marine 1 to assist Tateville VFD with a woods fire over then bank on Lake Cumberland approx 100 feet above water and 100 feet below the roadway. Assisted by Burnside VFD with M1 crew, Tateville VFD above fire and Bronston VFD spotting fire from across the lake.

Yesterday was another example how county agencies working together helps everyone get the job done safely and efficiently.

Crews were dispatched to a reported “yellow slime” coming from a refrigerator sized object in the lake this morning. Crews responded with Hz8 and river boon trailer and to Burnside Marina for Marine 1. On arrival scene, crews investigated and found yellow substance was pollen and the object was an old mini deep freeze with the compressor and Freon tank removed. The crew secured the deep freeze to avoid boat traffic from hitting it or causing further incident. All crew and apparatus returned to appropriate quarters. Marine 1 crew was assisted by Burnside Fire Department for manpower and spotters from shore. Just to add, a few people have slammed our Pulaski 911 Dispatch center for the information they gave us that prompted the response. We are proud of Pulaski 911 and the job they do, they can only relay what a caller tells them, I would rather be called out and it end of being nothing, than not going and it ends up detrimental to health or property. We treat every mission like it’s real, even when it’s nothing harmful, it’s still good to go thru the steps and train. It’s the best way to build relationships and ensure we are as efficient as possible.
