Great opportunity for students interested in journalism!!

KSVT πŸ“£ is partnering with Press Forward Blue Grass ✏️ to launch a rural youth journalism bureau.

Our goal is to support fellow young Kentuckians in telling stories about their schools and communities by centering the lived expertise and on-the-ground reporting from us as students!

We’re looking for up to 7 Kentucky high school students in rural communities to join our first cohort of reporters! πŸ“° You'll participate in virtual workshops, identify stories in your community, and publish pieces. No previous journalism experience is required. Cohort members will be paid a $500 stipend for their work.

πŸ”œ: Sign up to join us at ksvt.org!

I am proud to have VOTED NO to tax breaks for Data Centers. I oppose tax breaks for corporations - especially those that exploit our workers, harm our natural resources, and drive up costs.

Kentuckians deserve to be heard as major Medicaid changes approach.

The Kentucky Senate Democrats and Kentucky House Democrats are launching Medicaid Reality Check: A Health Care Listening Tour, a four-city tour to hear directly from Kentuckians about the health coverage, care and services they depend on.

New rules. New paperwork. New requirements.

The changes could affect children, seniors, people with disabilities, working Kentuckians, caregivers, health care providers and communities across the commonwealth. Lawmakers want to hear firsthand what Medicaid means to you, what could be at risk if coverage or care is disrupted, and what Kentucky can do to protect access to health care.

Each stop will include a brief overview from a health policy expert, time for Kentuckians to share their stories, written story collection for those who may not be able to speak during the program, and a question-and-answer period with lawmakers, policy experts and advocates.
