Update on the scam alert. The scammers are using law enforcement lingo and verbiage in an attempt to intimidate and place fear into the victims of their scam. Please understand that this is not the way law enforcement operates. If a law enforcement agency needs to obtain information from you, there will be zero threats and more than likely they will show up at your door and see you in person. They are preying on people’s fear and making them feel as if they are an unwitting participant in a criminal act. Please, if you get one of these calls simply ask them to meet you at the Soperton police department to discuss this matter further. I will be more than happy to speak to them for you. Thank you and please stay alert and stay safe.

My guys definitely don’t do this job for recognition or fame, but I will give them credit where credit is do. Today two of our officers stopped a vehicle for blowing through a four way stop. After making contact, one of the passengers was requested to exit the vehicle. As he stepped out of the vehicle his gun fell out onto the roadway. He then proceeded to flee on foot. Two officers gave chance and chased the suspect for over a mile before he was apprehended. Illegal drugs, packaging materials, and scales were all recovered from the vehicle. I am so proud of each and every officer who assisted in keeping these drugs off our streets and guns out of the hands of individuals who are clearly not qualified to be carrying them.
Protecting K9 Heroes is pleased to announce that K9 Dante the Soperton Police Department located in Georgia, has been granted a K9 Medical Trauma Kit and a Narcan Kit. These gifts of protection were made possible by Protecting K9 Heroes. Dante is 3 year-old German Shepherd. He has been with his handler Corporal Kyle Strickland and has been employed with the Soperton Police Department since April of 2018. He enjoys playing ball, being goofy, and relaxing on the couch when he is off duty. He loves his job and is always ready to work. The only thing that Dante dislikes is, getting up early in the morning for day shift but once he's up he's ready to get to work.
Naloxone, also known as Narcan, blocks the effects of opioids and reverses overdoses within 2-5 minutes. Each kit includes one 4 Mg device as well as a Narcan Holster. The K9 must still be seen by a veterinarian. Unfortunately, we risk losing K9s to the drug epidemic during searches and our goal is to have their handlers properly equipped in the case of emergencies. Handlers are instructed to receive training from their local veterinarians on the proper use of this product.
Protecting K9 Heroes NFP Ltd is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. We protect K9s through donations and support from various communities. It is our mission to reduce the amount of K9 related deaths throughout the United States by supplying as many of them with the protection they need. We offer Multi-Threat Ballistic Vests, K9 Medical Kits, and Naloxone (Narcan) Kits. If you are interested in making a tax-deductible donation, you may donate through our website at www.protectingk9heroes.com or checks can be mailed to: Protecting K9 Heroes P.O. Box 422 Glenwood, IL 60425. We can be reached at 708-480-2292. You can also follow Protecting K9 Heroes on Facebook!
