Well said, Jamee.
Rudy Yakym now calls ABC57 "cowardly and unethical" for reporting the truth: he refused to respond to their interview requests for 20 consecutive business days about the Iran war, gas prices, and inflation.
Let's talk about what's actually cowardly and unethical:
It's cowardly and unethical to show up only for photo ops while refusing to answer tough questions from the journalists who've kept this community informed for decades.
It's cowardly and unethical to duck town halls, ignore questions and invitations from constituents, and laugh off hundreds of concerned voters protesting outside your office as a "block party."
It's cowardly and unethical to take calls from big donors while leaving everyday constituents on hold.
It's cowardly and unethical to be hand-picked in a special election and then refuse to lift a finger to actually connect with the public you claim to represent.
ABC57 asked simple questions about issues directly affecting Hoosier families—families paying $1.31 more per gallon at the pump, families watching inflation hit 3.8% because of a war launched without congressional approval.
This is a playbook we've all seen before. When you can't answer basic questions from local media, you attack them. Yet again, "Community" Rudy would rather disrespect, deflect, and change the subject than face the people who elected him.
Transparency isn't optional. Accountability isn't negotiable. And attacking the messengers doesn't make the message go away.
Hoosiers deserve better than a cowardly, unethical congressman who hides from questions and attacks journalists for doing their jobs.
