The MJFD is proud to announce that we have taken delivery of our new Pierce Mfg Ascendant 100' mid-mount tower ladder. Firefighters began training last night with a classroom session with the factory instructor. Hands-on operator training started today, and will continue on Saturday and Sunday. After completing the initial training, our firefighters will continue the hands-on aerial, pump and driver training in order to get qualified. We will post updates as we get closer to placing the new Tower 201 in service, hopefully within the next two months.

The MJFD reminds residents that when clearing your driveway and sidewalks of snow, to please take some time and clear the area around the fire hydrant closest to your home. Please be sure to clear a 3 foot area around the entire hydrant to ensure it is visible and that we can connect our hoselines and operate the valve to supply water. Thank you for your assistance to keep our community safe.

On January 16th, the MJFD welcomed On Scene Training Associates, LLC and retired FDNY Lt. Mike Ciampo to give a presentation on tower ladder operations. As we prepare to take delivery of our new Pierce Mfg 100' Ascendant mid-mount tower, the class provided a tremendous amount of useful information that will help us maximize the capabilities of the truck. Thank you to the members of the Kingston Volunteer Fire Company #1 and Kendall Park Volunteer Fire Company who also attended the training.
