Leyte Dragons,
Tomorrow is the Graduation Ceremony for Basic Combat Training Cycle 26-01!
Timeline for tomorrow:
6 a.m. Hilton Field Gates open for parking and seating
8 a.m. Naturalization Ceremony (Yellow Star pavilion on the map)
9 a.m. Graduation Ceremony begins
9:45 a.m. Ceremony concludes and formation splits for departure
Attached is a map and orientation of Hilton Field. While you may find the field on your preferred GPS application, we recommend following the blue-painted line from any Fort Jackson gate. That blue line will direct you to the appropriate entrance of Hilton Field. It typically appears in Google or Apple Maps searches. The QR Code will directly take you to a Google Maps directions route to the field.
Military Police will direct traffic into the field, and then additional Soldiers will direct parking in the general area. Handicap parking is available.
Once parked, make your way towards the green square, which is the entrance & screening area for the bleachers. All bags will be searched! Contraband, especially drugs, unlabeled medications, weapons of all kinds (fi****ms, knives, tasers, sprays, etc.) will be confiscated.
From there, ushers will direct family to seating areas in front of the respective companies.
Due to the tight timelines, we regret to inform families that there will not be a traditional "Tap Out" for the graduates. After the ceremony concludes, Families will be asked to remain in the stands as the formation separates into their mode of travel. All travel plans have already been confirmed; no changes will be honored unless approved by the command on a case-by-case basis.
"POVers" are Graduates who have Family members picking up and transporting them to their leave location. POVers will move to the baseball fields for pickup and departure by said family. They will be organized by Company.
Commercial Travelers are Graduates who purchased a ticket through Victory Travel. These Graduates will depart Hilton Field and head to their respective locations for the next leg as they travel to their leave locations. There is no allotted time to meet with family on the field after graduation. Families are not authorized to attempt to meet their Graduate at the Battalion or Company areas, or their departing travel node.
Task Force Victory Graduates are those remaining on Fort Jackson during the Victory Block Leave period. These Graduates may have a brief opportunity on the field to greet family, but will also depart shortly after the ceremony.
If you cannot attend tomorrow, the Graduation Ceremony will be livestreamed right here on this page.

Happy Thanksgiving Leyte Dragons!!
Yesterday, Senior Drill Sergeants and Company Command Teams served your Soldiers-in-Training a holiday meal.
The Battalion Commander, Lt. Col. D. Timothy Burton, and Battalion Command Sergeant Major, Command Sgt. Maj. Michael Hanes, oversaw as all five companies enjoyed the special meal with options to include roast turkey, cornish hen, steak, ham, green beans, stuffing, sweet potato, macaroni and cheese, and a variety of pies.
Here are some brief photos from our volunteers. Stay tuned later this weekend for more photos from across the battalion showcasing some of the realistic training your Soldiers-in-Training have conquered thus far!

Happy Sunday, Leyte Dragons!!
We thank you all for being patient.
Your Soldiers-in-Training have been busy the past few weeks. They've accomplished many graduation requirements and notable Basic Combat Training tasks.
Conquering Fears at Victory Tower, trusting their equipment at the CBRN gas chamber, and building the teamwork and discipline needed to succeed in the U.S. Army through obstacle courses and the Hammer 24-hour Field Exercise. They've taken a diagnostic Army Fitness Test and spent hours at the ranges to qualify on the M4 carbine.
The next week will test them as the Battalion heads into the field for the Anvil 48-hour Field Exercise.
Stay tuned next weekend! We've been gathering photos from our volunteers so far this cycle and will be posting them. We will also answer questions. Please comment with them below!

Welcome to Basic Combat Training Cycle 26-01 for the 1st Battalion, 34th Infantry Regiment! If your Soldier-in-Training (SIT) or Trainee arrived at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, between October 13-17 2025, you are on the correct page! This is the ONLY Official page for 1-34. Welcome to the Leyte Dragons Family!
Attached is a welcome letter from our Battalion Commander, Lt. Col. Burton and Battalion Command Sergeant Major, Cmd. Sgt. Maj. Hanes.
Due to the current Government Shutdown, there will be limited posting. As such, here are a few quick notes.
This cycle is shortened due to the upcoming holiday season. There is no Family Day ceremony. Additionally, your Trainees will be given the opportunity to take Victory Block Leave (VBL). Tomorrow, Sunday October 26th, your Soldiers-in-Training will have the opportunity to speak with family about these details. The attached slide highlights several key questions that need to be discussed and answered this weekend.
Soldiers will be able to take leave December 18 - 2 January. They will depart for their leave location shortly after the graduation ceremony on December 17. They will arrive to the AIT Location on 2 January. Soldiers not taking leave will remain on Fort Jackson and be shipped to their AIT at the end of the VBL period. Soldiers may travel by POV or Commercial Travel. In Week 3, SITs will book their Commercial Travel thru the Victory Travel office here on Fort Jackson. They may pay themselves or have pay information from a family member. They must determine this weekend if they can afford the tickets. If not, they will receive an Advance of their Pay.
