Free smoke alarms AND installation! 🚒

The Elgin Fire Department is partnering with Camp I Am Me to provide free smoke alarms for Elgin homeowners. Elgin firefighters will install them for you at no cost as part of the statewide Smoke Alarm Installation Blitz.

Installations are planned for Oct. 18-24. Smoke alarms are available while supplies last.

McKayla Farinella, Firefighter with the Elgin Fire Dept was our speaker this afternoon discussing Fire and Fall Prevention. Gave out great information re lock boxes, smoke detectors and file of life. Thank you to the Elgin Fire Department for providing the pizzas as well. See separate post re Elgin residents getting free smoke detectors and installation as well.

Please feel free to attend if you are a caregiver, have questions re memory loss of a loved one, need resources, or just curious of what we can offer. We are averaging 50+ people monthly. Bring your loved one or, if they cannot make it, you are welcome to come alone. It is connecting time with others going thru the same thing. Just a fun hour and half of talking and socializing.
