I appreciate seeing leaders who are willing to tackle difficult issues and look for solutions that put our community first. Every life matters, and making our roads safer is a conversation worth having. ❤️

I had a great meeting this morning at my office with Councilwoman Melissa Weidenbach. For the last few weeks Melissa has been working on a new ordinance proposal to regulate electronic bicycles and similar electronic devices within our city. Her effort has also included reaching out to other cities and towns that have passed similar ordinances on this topic. I greatly appreciate all of her effort onthis. Electronic bicycles and safety have increasingly become a concern in our city and across the Calumet Region, with very serious accidents and injuries happening throughout this year keeping the issue heavy on our minds. Melissa has worked hard at this, and will be with me this Monday at city hall for my next Mayor's Monday meeting from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, where she will present her first draft of the ordinance and hear public input on it. After that meeting, she and I will work together to make any updates and get it through the process of being voted on by the entire city council. If you're interested in this, I highly recommend coming to our meeting on Monday or sending an email after the first official draft is out.

I think I smiled so much at the Porter County Fair today that my cheeks are going to need a nap. 😄🎡

What a fun day! I met so many great people, had some wonderful conversations, and even had several folks stop and say, "You've got my vote!" I won't lie... hearing that never gets old.

Campaigning has reminded me that people just want someone who will listen, be approachable, and genuinely care about our community. I'm thankful for every handshake, every conversation, and every word of encouragement today.

Now excuse me while I go rest my feet... because campaign season definitely counts as cardio! 😂

Thank you, Porter County Home sweet Home! ✌🏾❤️

I'm so excited about the design of my new shirt for this Sunday at the next Portage Cruise Night. I'll be doing the "Kids Pie the Mayor" event from 3 to 4 pm. It's $5 per pie, and all the proceeds go towards buying new school supplies for Portage Township Schools.
