🚨ATTENTION🚨 when you are driving near an accident scene, MOVE OVER AND SLOW DOWN, for emergency responders. Earlier today, as our men were recovering a vehicle, a driver side swept and hit our Rotator. Prior to that, motorists were swerving as they were onlooking. As you can see. This puts our men, officers, and motorists in danger. MOVE OVER AND SLOW DOWN! Rest in Peace

Condolences to all of Sacramento PD and her family.

It is with a broken heart that we have to share with all of you that earlier today we lost one of our own. While on a call for service in North Sacramento, Officer Tara O’Sullivan was shot and killed. She gave her young life while protecting our community.

We are devastated tonight. There are no words to convey the depth of the sadness we feel, or how heartbroken we are for the family of our young, brave officer. The men and women of our police department will continue to do our jobs to protect our community, and we will draw strength from the courage of Tara.

Our hearts are with Tara’s family, whose pain can hardly be imagined. Please hold her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Here's sad news of a tow operator fatality that occured early this morning making this the first fatality of 2019. According to the news, tow operator, Pat Sisneros, of Madrid Towing, was struck and killed as he attempted to assist a NM state police officer. According to State Police, a semi-truck crashed into a State Police vehicle just before 1 a.m. Police say Pat Sisneros stopped to assist the officer when another semi collided into Sisneros' tow truck, killing him. All lanes on I40 Eastbound MM 157 were closed due to the motor vehicle accident involving the second semi-truck. It was also reported that 20-degree temperatures caused lanes to be were extremely icy. Details are few and an investigation is being on-going. My prayers are with the Sisneros' family and the company Pat worked for.
Rest in peace sir, we will take it from here.
Another tow-brother has just been killed this morning in the line-of-duty at the scene of an empty, broken down school bus in Pittsfield Township, near Ann Arbor, Michigan. The name of the tower has not been released and details are few at this time. Early reports stated the tower was standing at the rear of the bus when a Ford SUV plowed the rear of the bus. Some news reports indicate that the driver of the SUV has died of their injuries. My prayers and sympathy’s go out to the tower’s family, his company and those who knew him. R. Link:
Hi All … I’m gearing up for this year’s American Towman Show in Las Vegas and I write to invite you to my open forum seminar on, “PTSD and Towers”, the first-time ever presented to tow company owners and their personnel. While other first responders, like fire, rescue and law enforcement have specific programs and protocol designed to face PTSD head-on, the towing and recovery industry hasn’t yet recognized that PTSD is an issue we too are faced with. You’re invited to join me Friday, 0900, May 11th, in room, “Sonoma C”, by attending this powerful and informational seminar. Come and learn just how powerful the force of PTSD is to those involved in tow and recovery operations. Learn how to recognize or handle the oftentimes debilitating dynamics that cause PTSD. While I don’t claim to be a mental health professional, teaching this course is a way for me to deal with my own level of first-responder PTSD. When life sometimes over-loads’ you, remember this, “You eat an elephant by taking one bite at a time.” See you in Las Vegas. Randall Resch Operations Editor American Towman Magazine & Tow Industry Week Alpine, CA.
Phone rings, Towing Company answers. Customer says " My car is broke down. Can you help?" Tow Operator:"Yes, I have a truck available. Where are you located?" Customer: "I am beside the road." Tow operator:" Which road and what town are you close to?" Customer: "Well, I am just past a gas station and there are big trucks passing by." Tow operator: " I need to know what road you are on." Customer: " Its the crooked one where my papaw used to live." Tow Operator: " I dont know who your grandfather was or where he lived. I need you to find out where you are ." Customer:" Dont you have one of those GPS thingies to find me?" Tow operator begins to shake his head and beat on his dashboard and mouth numerous curse words without sound. All in a normal day for Towing Companies.
