Crews are out and about today! Please see below for Zone information. These are the streets our drivers are starting on in each Zone after they plow the main roads in that Zone first.

Zone 1: Kokanee
Zone 2: Golden Bear
Zone 3: Meadow Vale
Zone 4: Apache by the Post Office
Zone 5: Nahane
Zone 6: Sioux
Zone 7: Chiapa
Zone 8: a driver will be headed that way later today
Zone 9: a driver will be headed that way later today
Zone 10: one grader on Wilson, one grader on Glenridge

Please remember that the berm at the end of the driveway is the resident's responsibility. While we make every effort to minimize the size of the berm, a berm is inevitable.

Thank you! Stay safe out there!

First major storm of the year is expected to begin later on today, with the bulk of it (9-13 inches of snow) expected over night! Our crews are ready!

Just a friendly pre-storm reminder to keep all property off of County roads during and after this upcoming storm. This includes vehicles, mailboxes, trash cans, etc. Vehicles in the County right-of-way not only slow down our process but are subject to towing. Help us help you by keeping all property out of the way of graders and rotary blowers.

Thank you and stay safe!

The hard closures on North Upper Truckee at Otomites and Sawmill Rd at Echo View Estates are now open to all through traffic as of 3:15pm Sunday, July 7th.

07/02/2019

On Sunday, July 7th, 2019, El Dorado County DOT will implement a hard closure at North Upper Truckee Road at Otomites Street as well as Sawmill Road at Echo View Estates. There will be NO Highway 50 access at these points from at 9am through 6pm Sunday.

03/07/2019

We have graders starting out in the following areas today:

Zone 1 - Cold Creek/Alice Lake
Zone 2 - Hekpa
Zone 3 - no equipment during day shift today
Zone 4 - Apache by the Post Office
Zone 5 - Blizten area into South Upper Truckee
Zone 6 - Main Roads
Zone 7 - Otomites
Zone 8 - no equipment today during day shift
Zone 9 - rotary blower and grader finishing up in Phillips Tract then headed to other areas on the summit
Zone 10 - one grader starting on Wilson in Tahoma, another grader starting in Upper Rubicon

Please remember to keep all property (vehicles, mail boxes, etc.) out of County right of way during snow removal conditions. If there is a car on the street, we cannot go down that street until the car is removed. This can greatly delay your street getting plowed. Stay safe out there, folks!

02/19/2019

Lake Tahoe Blvd between Sawmill and Tahoe Mountain is open as of 4am this morning.

Our crews are out in Zones 3 and 6 in our efforts to get roads wide again. Please be patient as this can be a slow process.

Most of our calls these last couple of storms have been from residents requesting ETAs for their street. Unfortunately, any ETAs we give are almost always inaccurate due to cars being in our way, equipment breakdowns, etc. We are doing our best with the staff and equipment we have and will be there as soon as possible.

02/15/2019

Lake Tahoe Blvd is now closed in both directions between Sawmill and Tahoe Mountain due to flooding. North Upper Truckee is still accessible through the Highway 50 side.

Road crews are out plowing Zones 1-8 today and Zone 10 on the west shore of Lake Tahoe. Please remember to keep all vehicles off the road so that our equipment can get by.

Crews will be working 24 hours a day through this storm and will work diligently once the storm passes to get the roads widened with the rotary blowers. Thank you for your patience!

Urgent Message - El Dorado County Tahoe Basin and High Elevation Residents (6000'-7500’)

The weather forecast is now anticipating several inches of rain at Lake level. The County is urging anyone with historic drainage issues or those concerned about localized flooding to clear snow from storm drains near their house prior to the onset of this storm.

County maintenance staff are actively working to clear streets of snow, however it is unlikely that all storm drain inlets can be cleared prior to this next storm series.

The time to act on clearing snow around properties is now and the window is closing quickly. Please see the link below to the NOAA forecast discussion and be prepared for excessive rain.

All County offices in South Lake Tahoe are closed today. We will be out and about taking care of the roads for you. There will be graders at the beginning of each Zone as soon as there's enough snow to plow. Be safe out there, folks!

03/21/2018

In preparation for the upcoming storm, sand bags and sand are available at Lake Valley Fire Protection District at 2211 Keetak Street out in Meyers. Be safe out there, folks!

County offices in South Lake Tahoe are closed today Friday, March 2nd due to the weather. We are working around the clock to clear streets in the County. See below for starting points in each zone:

Zone 1 - Golden Bear
Zone 2 - Hekpa
Zone 3 - Meadow Vale
Zone 4 - Apache near the Post Office

Zone 8 - Jewell into Echo View Estates
Zone 9 - Johnson Pass (will be completed during night shift which begins at 6pm)

We got about a foot and a half of snow out in Meyers and are working our hardest to get to each street as soon as possible. Please remember to keep all property out of County right of way. Although we try our best to minimize berms, they do occur, especially during bigger storms like this one. Remember that snow berms are the resident's responsibility. Stay safe, everyone!
