Soldiers from the 220th Public Affairs Detachment (46S MOS) conduct Warrior Task and Battle Drill training during a recent Battle Assembly held at Ft. Custer, MI. Warrior Tasks are individual skills deemed critical to Soldier survival while Battle Drills are group skills designed to teach a unit to react and survive in common combat situations. While these Soldiers' mission is to perform public affairs operations, they are first and foremost Soldiers who are capable, combat-ready, and lethal.

The U.S. Army Reserve recently recognized one of our Soldiers, Sgt. Bob Yarbrough, by sharing his story and photos about a Soldier assigned to the 414th Civil Affairs Battalion, who is following in his father's footsteps by serving in the 414th CAB. The subject of the story, Pvt. Peter Meyer, was participating in his first battle assembly with the 414th CAB.

SPC Robert Torres, a Mass Communications Specialist with the 220th Public Affairs Detachment in Southfield, MI, recently competed in the 2019 U.S. Army Reserve Command Best Warrior Competition at Ft. Bragg, NC. SPC Torres earned his spot in the competition by winning the Soldier category at the 88th Readiness Division's Best Warrior Competition held at Ft. Knox, KY in April 2019.

Previously, SPC Torres served on active duty as a 19D Cavalry Scout and after spending some time in the IRR (Inactive Ready Reserve), joined the 220th PAD in April 2017. SPC Torres has also recently completed an overseas tour to Kuwait in his role as a Public Affairs Soldier, and was awarded two honorable mentions in the Brumsfield Awards for his products produced overseas.
