On Monday, we joined hundreds of other Sunrisers from all across the country in Washington DC to demand for Biden’s infrastructure plan to include a fully funded Civilian Climate Corps that would reduce carbon emissions, enable a transition to renewable energy, build healthier and more resilient communities, implement conservation projects with proven climate benefits, and help communities recover from climate disasters. We are seeing an extreme heat wave in the PNW right now, and future summers will only be hotter if we don’t respond to this crisis with the urgency required. Info about upcoming local actions and initiatives coming soon. Our Political Team is having a meeting next Monday at 5 PM, and our Actions Team is having a meeting next Tuesday at 5 PM. Happy Earth Day! Today and everyday, we must think about what we can do not just individually, but collectively, to help stop the climate crisis. We are more powerful together. Together we must fight for the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the places we call home. Together we must demand for those in power to prioritize the planet and people over profits.
