Senior Volunteer Gene LaLiberte passed away on Friday, February 18, 2011. He was 91 years young. He gave over 40,000 hours of volunteer service to his community. People who knew Gene will miss his vigor, humor, compassion and hearing his whistling coming down the hall at work. Any donations in Gene’s memory may be made to the Spokane Law Enforcement Museum (SPLEM) to the Eugene J. La Liberte Memorial Fund.

This will be a great way to get in touch with each other (again) and hopefully a way we can gather everyone to get a reunion organized. Be sure to list when you were an explorer, for how long, if you held a rank, who your advisors were/are, where you're working now, and other tid bits about your days as an explorer.

As a son, brother and publisher of police officers, I thought this group would appreciate knowing about an upcoming reading at the downtown Spokane library on Oct. 17th, 6-8pm. Retired state trooper, Steve Raabe, will be reading from his acclaimed memoir, Patrolling the Heart of the West, while I'll be reading from Deep Fire Rise, an homage to my law enforcement family. Thank you for your service, and we hope to see some of you there!
Very sad! RIP...
