In person registration is TOMORROW!!! If you haven’t already registered online, registering in person tomorrow 08/10 (all schools) or 08/11 (all schools except elementary) is crucial. Schools are starting to put together classes and schedules and need students registered to do so. All students must be registered.

All District 186 students are required to register each school year. Registration is a quick and important process that lets your child's school know they will be returning for the upcoming school year, allowing staff to prepare class lists, schedules, and other back-to-school plans.

Online registration is available now- https://186.springfield.k12.il.us/IS3/Registration/Main.php

Pre-K families, please wait to receive a placement letter for pre-k before registering your student(s).

In-Person Registration dates: Computers will be available to complete registration

The only picture I took because I was busy handing out back packs! I don’t know how many backpacks I handed out but I know it was a lot! This event was packed from beginning to end. It was a great turnout and I liked having it at the Scheels Sports Complex. Thank you to all of our community partners for making this a big success.

Hope to see you tomorrow night at the LHS Alumni game!

Have you registered your student yet?

Admittedly I am slacking on this myself—my kiddo is not yet registered. Putting that on my to do list this week. It will be the last time I register a kid for school ever! My last kid will be a senior this year. If you cannot register online, make sure you plan to attend one of the in person registrations at the school your student will be attending.

The only picture I took yesterday from the Camp Kindergarten graduation ceremony. At one point Principal Lott asked the parents if they were ready for their kids to go to kindergarten and one little kid piped up and said I’m ready!! It was adorable.

Camp Kindergarten is a summer program that is geared towards kids entering kindergarten with no preschool experience. They worked on things like eating in a cafeteria, walking in a line, using scissors, writing their names and a lot more. And thanks to a generous donation from United Way, this program is able to continue for the next three years.

Each kid got to have their name called and get a certificate showing they had graduated from Camp Kindergarten. They got to process in to Pomp and Circumstance and shake hands with myself and Micah Miller for 186. These kids were all dressed in their best attire and are ready to have a successful 12 more years of school. The family support at this was amazing. The gym was packed from wall to wall. Truly a great event and a great program!
