Volunteers Needed!
On July 19th, 2014, the Illinois State Police Heritage Foundation will be hosting the Seventh Annual Illinois State Police Memorial Park Motorcycle and Fun Car Run. This is an escorted ride traveling the scenic and hist......orical “Route 66”. The ride leaves from several locations around the state. The final destination is the Illinois State Police FOP Lodge 41 in Springfield where we will host a dinner which will include a raffle and auction to help raise funds for the ISP Memorial Park. You do not have to ride a motorcycle to participate in the Run.
If you would like to volunteer your time and talents to this event – no amount is too small. We need volunteers to assist with the set up tables/chairs the day before the event and also take down the Monday following the event; volunteers to sell raffle tickets for baskets, golf cart, t-shirts, and meal tickets or just lend a hand during the event.
If you can assist in this very worthwhile event, please contact one of the following individuals:
Sergeant Clare Pfotenhauer (630) 918-8466
Master Sergeant Rich Kozik (708) 205-0065
First Deputy Director Jack Garcia, Retired (312) 497-1017
Ms. LeAnn Shirley (217) 785-4377
or e-mail the Committee at [email protected]
Event Registration:
Register by June 26, 2014, to receive a $10 discount on your registration and be automatically entered in the VIP Drawing. One lucky winner (and one companion bike) from each starting location will get to ride in the VIP section behind the Police Motors.
We are very proud of the fact that the Motorcycle and Fun Car Run continues to grow in attendance, donations, and fun activities. Registration, basket raffles, silent auctions, commemorative merchandise, and 50/50 drawing are just some of the activities coordinated and carried out by volunteers.
Raffles:
One of this year’s raffles will be a Chicago Bears themed golf cart (to be autographed by Bears players). In addition to the custom paint job (not stickers), it has a complete stereo system with four speakers in the headliner. There is also a one of a kind Re*****on 1911; 45 caliber pistol dedicated to Trooper Sauter which will be raffled as well. Pictures of the pistol and baskets will be available soon as will tickets for all of the items.
Although this may be considered a motorcycle run, you do not have to ride a motorcycle to come join the fun. Come for dinner and enjoy an evening with those who appreciate the sacrifice of the Illinois State Police and their officers. Thank you for your support of this worthy cause.
