The 49th McDrew Tennis Tournament comes to an end. Congratulations to David Lu and Noah Williams repeating as champions defeating Griffin Hammond and Zeke Cross in the Finals (8-2).

Almost 8hour between matches, the 18s defeated Schaumburg 39-25 and clinched a birth in the Championship match tomorrow at 12pm against Saint Joseph Tennis from Western Michigan.
After the 1st day of pool play, 18s went 2-0 and 3 game out of 1st place while the 14s are currently in 2nd place.
Today’s matches will all be played indoors and good luck to all the teams representing CITA as well as Mid-South Illinois District!

CITA would like to congratulate our youngest Board Member, Simmi Mander, for being recognized as Tennis Player of the Year by Channel 1450 at an award ceremony last night. Simmi represents Glenwood High School and finished 4th at State with her doubles partner Amber Ehrlich.
As Youth Outreach Coordinator for CITA, Simmi has worked to make the sport more accessible to underserved communities in Springfield, through after school tennis programs and summer camps. We applaud Simmi for her passion for and dedication to the sport, her spirit of volunteerism, and for being a great role model!
Jr. Summer tennis came back to Rochester after 5 year hiatus. The 1st session ended last week with 8 players (some missing in pictures) but we would love to see more players in the 2nd session!
