The National Trail Parks and Recreation District is an extensive parks and recreation system encompassing a multitude of facilities and program opportunities for our residents. This Joint Recreation District was formed when the City of Springfield Parks and Recreation Department and the Clark County Recreation Department joined as one agency. The District manages over 1,000 acres of beautiful pa

rks and facilities and nearly 30 miles of multi-use trails. Our staff members are dedicated to providing quality parks, facilities, services and programs for the residents of Clark County. We share the vision to create community through people, parks and programs. National Trail Social Media Policy

History came to life at George Rogers Clark Park this weekend as the George Rogers Clark Heritage Association commemorated the Battle of Peckuwe, fought on this site on August 8, 1780. The ceremony remembered the Americans, Shawnee, and their allies who fought here 246 years ago in the largest Revolutionary War battles west of the Appalachian Mountains. Thank you to the George Rogers Clark Heritage Association and everyone who came out to help remember an important chapter in the history of this land and our community.
