Weather may have delayed us, but it can’t stop the celebration. Springfield Skate Park turns 25 this year, and we’re celebrating the best way we know how, by skating! Join us for our rescheduled celebration during our Go Skateboarding Day event featuring contests, prizes, and a celebration of 25 years of Springfield’s skate community. 🏒 Ready to hit the ice? ❄️ Build your skills with Learn to Play Hockey at Brightspeed Ice Park. Classes offered for both youth and adults! Whether you’re brand new or brushing up on the basics, this program focuses on fundamentals in a fun, supportive environment.

📅 Tues. & Thurs., May 5–27
⏰ One-hour sessions, twice a week (times vary by age)
Youth: 17 & under | Adult: 18+
💲 $100/player, full equipment required.

Boating season starts TOMORROW, May 1 at Lake Springfield Park and Boathouse!

Boating season starts TOMORROW, May 1 at Lake Springfield Park and Boathouse!

The wait is over! Well, sort of. Boating season is scheduled to open tomorrow, May 1st at 9am, but keep in mind that the wind chill must be above 55 degrees for us to send you out.

The summer hours of operation (weather permitting) are:
Monday - Saturday 9am-4pm
Sunday - 11am-4pm
The final boats of the day are launched at 4pm and all boats are required to return by 5pm (deposit will be taken for these rentals).

Pricing:
- Single kayaks - $14 per hour
- Tandem kayaks and canoes - $17 per hour

We are a cashless facility, so bring your card and your ID.

Spoiler alert: you have to wear a lifejacket if you rent with us. Sorry not sorry.

Power has been restored to Doling Park and Family Center and Northview Center. Doling is open.

Dickerson Park Zoo is closed for the rest of Tuesday, April 28.

UPDATE FROM DPZ:
Dickerson Park Zoo sustained significant damage from the hail storm on Tuesday, April 28.

No guests or staff were injured.

Zoo staff is sad to report the death of one animal: a 21-year-old female emu. A male rhea is under veterinary care at this time.

All other animals are safe.

Dickerson Park Zoo will remain closed Wednesday, April 29.
