The Illinois State Police (ISP) was officially created in 1922 and today, comprised of about 2,800 sworn and code employees, is one of the most modern and efficient police organizations in the country. Over the years, ISP has continually changed in size and organizational structure to provide an increased number of services in the most efficient manner to the people of Illinois. These services are

implemented by the Office of the Director through the Division of the Academy & Training, Division of Criminal Investigation, Division of Forensic Services, Division of Internal Investigation, Division of Justice Services, Division of Patrol and the Division of Statewide 9-1-1. Since its inception, ISP has fostered and served with a reputation for integrity, service and pride.
