Financial stability starts with having the basics covered.

Through its Representative Payee Program, Helping Hands of Springfield helps individuals receiving Social Security or SSI stay on top of essential expenses while building the skills and confidence to manage their finances long-term.

Helping Hands of Springfield is thankful to receive 60 hygiene bags filled with daily essentials for the individuals we serve. The Zonta Women’s organization prepared 30 bags for men and 30 for women, including feminine products in the women’s kits.

We’re honored to be one of their service partners and excited for future collaborations that uplift our residents.

Tomorrow, we recognize Juneteenth, one of the most significant dates in American history.

On June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, word of emancipation reached enslaved Black people in Galveston, Texas. Juneteenth reminds us that freedom was delayed for far too many and that the promise of freedom has required generations of courage, resistance, faith, organizing, and hope.

Juneteenth is a celebration of Black freedom, resilience, family, culture, and community. It is also a day of historical memory. It calls us to reflect on our nation’s history and the ongoing responsibility to advance dignity, justice, and opportunity.

At Helping Hands of Springfield, we recognize that dignity, safety, housing, and stability are deeply connected to the broader promise of freedom. Our mission calls us to serve people with compassion, respect, and equity, especially those who have been pushed to the margins of our community.

As we honor Juneteenth, we celebrate the strength and contributions of Black Americans and recommit ourselves to building a community where every person has the opportunity to live with dignity, security, and hope.

We've received several questions about our raffle, so we wanted to provide some answers!

❓ When is the drawing being held?
📅 August 17, 2026 at 1:00 PM

❓ Where will the drawing be held?
💻 The drawing will be conducted virtually.

❓ How will winners be notified?
🏆 Winners will be announced on our page. We will also send an email to the address provided when tickets were purchased. If a phone number was included with your purchase, we will also attempt to contact you by phone.

❓ What does it mean that if 1,000 tickets are not sold, the prize pool will be 50% of sales?
💰 If fewer than 1,000 tickets are sold, the total prize pool will equal 50% of ticket sales and will be distributed proportionally among the three prize winners.

For example, if total ticket sales equal $2,000, the prize pool would be $1,000:
🥇 1st Place: $625
🥈 2nd Place: $250
🥉 3rd Place: $125

❓ What are the funds being used for?
❤️ Proceeds from this raffle help support the programs and services we provide to our clients. Funds may be used for shelter cleaning supplies, meals for those staying in our shelter, furniture and household items for housing clients, and other essential program needs.

Every person deserves dignity and comfort. Starting today, Helping Hands of Springfield is kicking off a 30‑day Adult Underwear Drive to collect new men’s and women’s underwear for individuals experiencing homelessness in our community.
