Mary Johnson - Neighbor and Advocate for Ward 6 I’m Mary and together, we can make Ward 6 in Springfield a safer, cleaner, and healthier place for all through professionalism, passion, and hard work.

Community • Integrity • Leadership Springfield isn’t just where I live—it’s where I’ve built a life, a family, and a community that I cherish. From the moment my husband and I moved into our home in Forest Park, neighbors welcomed us with open arms, reminding us why this city is so special. Now, I want to give back to the people who make this place feel like home. For over a decade, I have stood on the front lines of justice, fighting for fairness, dignity, and opportunity for all. As an attorney and advocate, I’ve worked tirelessly to uplift families struggling to keep their homes, immigrants seeking safety, and workers demanding fair treatment. Now, I am ready to bring my passion, experience, and determination to Ward 6 as your next City Councilor.

Students deserve a safe drop-off and pick-up. 🎒🚍🏫 Yesterday I spoke at the Springfield City Council Speak Out about the poor conditions around Washington Street School. The time for change is NOW! Let's not wait for a tragedy to happen before we take action. Let's get proper parking lanes and bike lanes on Washington Street. Here are my full comments. Next stop: The Traffic Commission!
Thank you so much to School Committee Member for Wards 6 & 7 Rosa M. Valentin for spearheading the traffic survey that gave such powerful solutions. And thank you to Councilor Kateri Walsh and Councilor Zaida Govan for supporting this and pointing me in the right direction to make these safety measures a reality for our students! Let's do this!

This is just one of many projects that the Forest Park Civic Association has supported all across the beautiful Forest Park neighborhood 🌳 🍁 I am so proud to be a member of FPCA and part of the teams of members who work every day to making our City a better place for everyone. Thank you for inspiring me, Deb!
