A 'Thank You' from our Mayor:
Thank you for a wonderful Frog Jump. So many people contributed to its success that it would be impossible to name them all.
I have been attending Frog Jumps since 2009, but this was my first year being directly involved. Seeing it from that perspective truly changed mine. It gave me a deeper appreciation for all those who have worked hard over the past 59 years. This 60th Frog Jump could not have been what it was without the efforts of those who came before. If you were part of any of those years, thank you.
To those involved this year, I owe a tremendous amount of gratitude. Every comment I’ve received has been filled with appreciation. One of my favorites was: “The Frog Jump feels like it used to.” Hearing that makes all the effort worthwhile.
As my first Frog Jump as mayor, I was fortunate to work with an outstanding committee, chaired by Lloyd Morgan. He and the entire Frog Jump Committee served Springfield well.
To everyone who participated—as a vendor, assistant, or volunteer—please know how much I appreciate you. The Frog Jump is defined not only by what people see, but also by the countless unseen efforts behind the scenes. Like a family, everyone plays a role; the same is true for a community event like this.
This Frog Jump was special to me, and I hope it was for you as well. I am already looking forward to number 61.
