The American public deserves more COVID-19 vaccine options
D'Arcy Turner, KCU-Joplin osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM) fellow, received the KCU Betty Jo White Prize in Osteopathy, given to a KCU fellow annually. The intention of the fund is to help medical students pursue further training in OMM and to promote osteopathic research.
“I will be presenting research at the Acofpca (Oct. 13-17). My current work focuses on how we can improve research in the field of osteopathic medicine by pinpointing weaknesses and strengths in two top osteopathic journals,” he explained. “I am very excited and thankful to the Betty Jo White Prize Fund and KCU for this opportunity. Additionally, I'd like to thank all my colleagues, fellow students and professors who helped me with said project.”
Additionally, he plans to present at the Illinois Osteopathic Medical Society (IOMS) Winter Seminar, the American Academy of Osteopathy Convocation, and partake in the Staab Symposium and an OMM technique workshop both held by Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences.
Following a conversation with a group of DOs and students from Illinois, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi indicated he will vote in support of our positions on all three issues!
