Tupperware's impact on women's lives cannot be underestimated. It changed the way women perceived their roles and provided them with an avenue for economic independence.
During the 1940s, Tupperware provided an opportunity for women to earn income by selling products to other women. Tupperware parties became a phenomenon, with enthusiastic sellers earning prizes like Cadillacs and trips to Disney.
While the brand may be facing uncertain times, its legacy lives on. It has left an indelible mark on the lives of women and the history of American entrepreneurship.

Grab a cup of coffee or tea and listen to this very thoughtful discussion about the media from our Southeast Spartans.
Teenagers are my favorite group of students...because they are just about to change the world. But honestly, today's youth have been changing the world for awhile now.
They touched on:
media literacy
school safety
mental health
trans rights
how to support community
how to support our environment
celebrating the creative community
Our youth are social media savvy- there is no doubt. And yes, there are downfalls to social media that we are all aware of- but there are also truly creative ways they are using it positively. They are using it to reach LGBTQ communities, Autism communities, environment communities, etc.
Thank you NPR Illinois 91.9 UIS for hosting this listening session- our youth voices are so important!
And Spartans.....we are lucky to have you in our community!!

Research shows that weight bias against women in the workplace is real and it's getting worse. Women face an unfair wage penalty for being seen as overweight or obese, while men do not.
Everyone deserves an equal chance to succeed in their careers.
