Our Basic Handgun Training Class is TOMORROW!

Whether you're new to fi****ms or looking to refresh your skills, this class is a great opportunity to learn safe and responsible handgun handling in a friendly and professional environment.

📅 Date: Tomorrow Saturday May 30th
🕘 Time: 8 am
📍 Location: Springville Police Department • 150 Walker Drive

Please bring:
✔️ Your handgun
✔️ Ammunition
✔️ Holster

Classroom instruction will be followed by live-fire training on the range, weather permitting. Certificates of completion will be provided.

Join us this Saturday, May 30th at 8 am for our Basic Handgun Training Class here at Springville Police Department!

This course will include classroom instruction along with firing range training (weather permitting).

Participants will need to bring:
✔️ Your own handgun
✔️ Ammunition
✔️ Holster

Certificates will be awarded upon completion of the course.

🔹 FIRST BASIC HANDGUN SAFETY CLASS COMPLETE 🔹

Today, the Springville Police Department proudly hosted our first Basic Handgun Safety Class. We appreciate everyone who attended and took the time to learn about safe firearm handling, Alabama firearm laws, storage practices, and responsible gun ownership.

Our goal is to continue providing opportunities for education, safety, and community engagement.

Thank you to all participants for making our first class a success. We also want to thank our instructors and staff who helped make this training possible.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to our Mayor and City Council members for taking the time to visit our newly renovated firing range today.

This project is an important investment in officer training, safety, and preparedness, and we appreciate the continued support shown to our department and our community.

We are proud of the improvements made and look forward to utilizing this upgraded facility to better serve our citizens for years to come.

🚨 UPDATE ON AVAILABLE SLOTS FOR SATURDAY 🚨

We only have 5 slots remaining for Saturday’s training class.

🔹 UPCOMING TRAINING OPPORTUNITY 🔹

The Springville Police Department will host a Basic Handgun Safety Class on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

🕗 Time: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
📍 Location: Springville Police Department

This four-hour course will include:
✔️ Alabama Use of Force Laws
✔️ Handgun Safety Instruction
✔️ Dry Fire Drills
✔️ Live Fire Range Training

Class size is limited to 10 participants, but additional classes will be scheduled in the future.

Anyone interested must come by the police department prior to May 16th to complete a waiver form.

Participants will need to bring:
🔸 Instructor-approved handgun (UNLOADED)
🔸 Instructor-approved holster
🔸 50 rounds of ammunition

**UPCOMING TRAINING OPPORTUNITY**

The Springville Police Department will host a Basic Handgun Safety class THIS SATURDAY May 16, 2026.

It will be a four hour class beginning at 0800 and ending at 1200. The maximum number of attendees will be 10 people, but future classes will be held at later dates. The instruction provided will be on State of Alabama use of force laws, handgun safety, followed by dry firing and live firing drills on the firing range.

If you are interested in the training, you will need to come by the police department prior to May 16th to fill out a waiver form to attend the class. You will need to have your instructor approved handgun (unloaded), an instructor approved holster, and 50 rounds of ammunition for the class.
