🌿 What a great morning at the 2nd Annual Trispot Darter Festival! 🎶🐟
We had a fantastic turnout Saturday morning at the Springville Sports Complex for a morning celebrating the trispot darter, our local waterways, conservation, and the incredible organizations working to protect them.
This year’s festival was made possible again through the generous support of the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and CAWACO.
We are incredibly grateful for their partnership and support!
A huge thank-you to all of the organizations and agencies that joined us and shared their knowledge and passion for conservation:
• National Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)
• U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service
• The Nature Conservancy
• Geological Survey of Alabama
• St. Clair Soil & Water Conservation District
• Freshwater Land Trust
• CONSERVE
• Alabama Aquatic Biodiversity Center
• Coosa Riverkeeper
• Alabama Forestry Foundation
• Big Canoe Creek Preserve USFWS Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program
We also want to give a special shout-out to our amazing volunteers who helped make the morning a success, including BCCPP Board member Jill Chambers, who kept things running at our tent.
And, of course, we couldn’t have had such a great morning without the music! 🎵
Thank you to Curt Brewer for handling the sound and to our incredibly talented lineup of musicians:
🎶 Jason Throneberry
🎶 Jean Cox
🎶 Spencer Overton
🎶 Brett Martin
🎶 Ed Powell
🎶 Blair Duluoz
We were also joined by Jake and Nicole Tucker's little horse, pancake. An added treat.
Thank you to everyone who came out, participated, volunteered, shared information, played music, and helped us celebrate the trispot darter and the remarkable natural resources of Big Canoe Creek and the surrounding watershed.
We’re already looking forward to next year! 🐟🌿
