Come meet your Olivette Police Department police officers for a free cup of coffee at Paris Baguette - Olivette on Monday, August 31, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

There’s no agenda, just friendly conversation in a safe and welcoming environment. We’d love the opportunity to get to know you, answer your questions, and connect with our community.
A limited number of free pastries will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Last Wednesday, Officer Bagsby attended Affinia Healthcare’s media event highlighting gun safety. The Olivette Police Department donated 50 gun locks to support Affinia Healthcare’s efforts to promote safe firearm storage.

Reminder: Free gun locks are available to members of the community Monday through Friday during normal business hours at the Police Records window at the Olivette City Center.

🎒 Welcome Back to School! 📚

Ladue School District students and staff return to school on Monday, August 24. Drivers should expect heavier traffic near Old Bonhomme Elementary School, particularly around the school’s 8:50 a.m. start time and 3:50 p.m. dismissal. Drivers may experience short delays, especially during the first few weeks of school.

Please help us keep students, staff, and other motorists safe:
🚲 Watch for pedestrians, bicycle riders, school buses, and students waiting at bus stops.
🚌 Stop for school buses when required and remain alert for students loading and unloading.
🚸 Obey all traffic signs, signals, crossing guards, and posted school-zone speed limits.
⏰ Give yourself extra time, remain patient, and consider using an alternate route during school arrival and dismissal times.
🚫 Drivers are reminded not to cross the double yellow lines to pass stopped or backed-up traffic in the school zone. Please remain patient, stay in your lane, and wait for traffic to move.

Olivette Police Officers and school staff will be working to keep traffic moving while prioritizing the safety of students and pedestrians. Traffic violations that endanger students, staff, or other motorists may result in enforcement action.
Thank you for slowing down, remaining patient, and helping everyone begin the school year safely.

🚗 New Driver in the Family?

Stop by the Records Window at the Olivette Police Department to pick up your FREE “Please Be Patient - New Driver” reflective car magnet. Available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Displaying a “Please Be Patient - New Driver” magnet on your vehicle helps alert other motorists that the driver may be less experienced and may react more cautiously or take a little longer to make decisions. This added awareness can encourage other drivers to be more patient, maintain a safer following distance, and reduce aggressive driving behaviors. It’s a simple way to promote safer driving for both the new driver and everyone else on the road.
