Relay For Life of Franklin County MO

Relay For Life of Franklin County MO Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of your American Cancer Society

During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times. The Relay For Life of Franklin County MO is a 12 hour overnight event. Relay For Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and th

at one day cancer will be eliminated. A Relay For Life usually begins at sunset with opening ceremonies and a cancer survivor lap followed by a caregiver lap. A Luminaria ceremony is held and the signature white lunch bags line the track displaying the names of loved ones who have battled cancer. The Fight Back ceremony is a way for participants to learn about health lifestyle habits and make a pledge to fight back against cancer. Just as the sun begins to rise the next morning Relay For Life is winding down and the closing ceremony takes place.
