Scam Alert!🚨

Several parents of university students have reported receiving fraudulent phone calls from individuals falsely claiming to be employees of the Washu Police Department. These callers state that a student has been arrested and demand immediate payment for their release.

Please know: WashU PD will NEVER request payment or personal information over the phone. If you receive a call like this, hang up and report it immediately. Stay vigilant and stay safe.

WashU Police Department is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). To earn reaccreditation, WashU PD must meet standards in policies and procedures, administration, operations, and support services. As part of the 2025 reaccreditation, CALEA is accepting public comment.
