For years, Democrats and blue-leaning voters here have told me they feel like they’re the only one in their neighborhood.

You probably aren’t.

Instead of sending volunteers somewhere unfamiliar, our campaign will help you knock Democratic and blue-friendly doors in or near your own neighborhood.

You choose how many doors. You choose when. Never knocked before? We’ll walk you through it.

I’ve been very particular about endorsements in this race because preserving my independence as a candidate and future legislator matters deeply to me.

But this one means a lot.

I’m incredibly proud to announce that I have been officially endorsed by the NC State AFL-CIO and Charlotte-Metrolina Labor Council for the 2026 general election.

I’m a former union worker. I’m a former second-shift worker. And I remember where I come from.

I remember what it means to work hard, come home tired, watch every dollar, and still believe that if you keep showing up and doing your part, you should have a fair shot at the American Dream.

That’s who I want to fight for in Raleigh.

The everyday North Carolinian who works hard and just wants a fair paycheck, decent benefits, an affordable home, time with their family, and the opportunity to give their kids a good life.

I was also proud to talk with labor leaders about why I refuse corporate PAC money. I want the people of House District 69 to know exactly who comes first in my office: you do. Every day of the week.

No corporation should be able to buy better access to your state representative than the people who actually live here.

And labor wants in on this race in Union County.

They’re excited to hit the ground running here, organize working people, and help bring a stronger labor voice back to our part of North Carolina. I’m excited to have them.

We have a lot of work to do. We won’t agree on absolutely everything, and no endorsement changes my obligation to independently evaluate what is best for the people I represent.

But I will never forget where I came from, and I will never be ashamed to stand with people who work hard for a living.

I’m proud to have labor standing with us in House District 69.

Let’s get to work.

The final scheduled hearing on Duke Energy’s proposed rate increase was August 11, but it’s not too late to speak up.

The rate case is still open, and you can still submit a written statement directly to the North Carolina Utilities Commission (NCUC).

It only takes a few minutes:

Enter your full name and email address.

Docket number: E-2, Sub 1380

Tell the Commission what another electric rate increase would mean for you and your family.

I included a sample statement in the picture below if you need somewhere to start.

Please submit your comments now while the Commission is still considering the case. Duke Energy gets to make its case. North Carolina customers deserve to make theirs, too.

And remember this on November 3: vote all the way down your ballot. Know your candidates. Know where they stand on bringing down your electric costs. Know who accepts money from Duke Energy while Duke asks to take more money from you.

If North Carolinians who don’t want their electric bills going up show up, speak up, and vote, Duke Energy will hear you.
