Today, the RCMP is wearing red to support all the victims of the tragic Nova Scotia shooting, including our own fallen Mountie Cst. Heidi Stevenson.

Wear Red Fridays began as a military tradition, honouring troops who couldn't make it home. The tradition was adopted by the RCMP to honour fallen Mounties following the 2014 Moncton shootings. Now, the RCMP joins all Canadians in participating in this meaningful tradition, as we pay respect and show support to all those impacted by the Nova Scotia tragedy.

New Michigan law: dark lights are NOW treated as 4-way stop

A tow truck driver was hit and killed last night in Saginaw by a drunk driver. Tow truck operators are under the same law as all first responders. If you see them on the side of the road with lights working, it is the LAW to move over at least one lane and if you can’t do that you must reduce speed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all involved.

“It’s a humbling moment. I want to thank the members of my department. 19 days in the hospital, many of them in intensive care, 24 hours of the day they were by my side comforting not only me, but my family.

This honor, I feel unworthy of. This honor lies in you, my brothers of the Montcalm County department because you stood by me and my family so that I can come back and serve the community that I care about.”
