Sneak Peak Preview!

Did you know we will also have an area for private groups to stay on the South side of the property, along with a vast array of trails and outdoor destinations (e.g., hammocks, ropes course, meditation platform, etc.)?

This 20 room retreat area is planned to open in early 2027 prior to the Grand Opening of The Shenandoah on the North Side in 2028. We’re excited to begin welcoming our first guests starting next year!

Question: “Who will stay there and for how long?”

Answer: “Guests will be regular people who love nature and are interested in growth and personal development. We will not serve guests that have serious medical, mental, or addiction issues needing professional intervention.

We will have a 3-night minimum and guests will typically stay 4-5 nights. This is an all inclusive type of destination, so guests typically stay on site the entire vacation.”

Question:

“How many jobs will be created and what types of roles?”

Answer:

“The resort will create over 250 full and part-time jobs. We plan to create economically sustainable career paths where individuals can align with their innate talents and calling.

The types of roles will include spa and healing professionals, activity guides/instructors, guest services, maintenance/housekeeping, food service, marketing, management and forestry, just to name a few.

We will start HR planning in late 2026 and will start hiring in mid 2027 . We will keep you informed as we progress through this process.”

We recently hosted a tour for a group of college professors (JMU) with whom we are exploring long-term collaboration across a wide range of disciplines. Areas of focus include energy sustainability, environmental stewardship, watershed management, water quality, ecology, vegetation studies, microclimatology, and other interconnected environmental sciences.

Our commitment to regenerating and responsibly stewarding the land remains at the core of our mission. By partnering with leading experts in these fields, we aim not only to advance meaningful research and sustainable practices, but also to inspire and educate future generations of students.

Together, we hope to reinforce the belief that we are not owners of the forest, but its stewards — entrusted with protecting, restoring, and preserving it for those who come after us.
