The Importance of a Public Education
I am a firm believer in the value and importance of public education as one of the key foundation posts in the day-to-day social and economic life of a community. Our system of public education serves to support the basic need of our families to provide their children with an excellent education, and by doing so provides for the future economic health of the Centre Region.
Public schools should provide the children of a community with uniform access to a program of academic learning, skill development, social learning, and health promotion. The mission of each public school is to assure that instruction is responsive to diversity, where social maturity, independence and social responsibility receive equivalent emphasis in order to prepare students for a successful, enriching and productive future life.
