Penn State College of Health and Human Development is preparing the next generation of public health professionals to make a difference in communities across Pennsylvania.

The University’s new undergraduate public health major equips students with skills in disease prevention, health policy and data analysis, with a focus on addressing health needs in rural communities across the commonwealth.

With 48 of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties classified as rural, this program is helping prepare graduates to strengthen community health and improve quality of life across the state.

Without important federal aid programs, many talented and bright students may miss out on achieving their dreams.

Our federal advocacy action item encourages federal legislators to support the maximum increase to the Pell Grant and oppose any proposed cuts to Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants and Federal Work-Study, programs that support student access, affordability, and degree completion.
