👋 Office Entrance Update 👋

We wanted to share a quick update about a change to our office entrance and customer flow.

During the busy property tax season, we took a closer look at how we could improve line flow while also ensuring full ADA accessibility. Thanks to a recent remodel, we were able to better use our space by adding another front counter clerk and making all six service windows wheelchair accessible.

These changes have made a noticeable difference — lines are moving faster, wait times are shorter, and the experience is smoother for everyone. What started as a temporary solution has proven so helpful that we’ve decided to make it a permanent change.

➡️ Here’s how the new flow works:

Please enter through the main center entrance

Follow the hallway past Elections and turn right, where our entrance faces North Main

Exit through the former entrance on the parking lot side

This one-way flow helps keep things safe, clear, and moving efficiently. Don’t worry — we have signage posted to guide you along the way!

You can also take advantage of the self-service kiosk inside Publix, which is available outside of regular office hours and now offers DDS services, including driver’s license renewals.

📬 2025 Property Tax Bills Are in the Mail!

Property tax bills have been mailed out. Once you receive your bill, you can start making partial payments right away — a great way to break up the total before the December 1 due date. (This is optional, of course, but we want to be sure everyone knows this option is available to you.)

⚠️ By law, interest begins on December 2 — but only on any remaining balance still due.

🏡 Mortgage Accounts: If you have a mortgage, you will always receive a bill. Our office cannot bill mortgage companies since we don’t know who your lender is. Most mortgage companies access the information electronically for payment. If you have a mortgage, please do not pay the taxes yourself as this complicates the payment process.

📅 Ownership Reminder: If you owned the property on January 1, 2025, we are required to send you a bill. If you’ve since sold the property, you may forward a settlement statement to our office showing how taxes were handled at closing. Those may be sent to [email protected].

🔔 Please Remember: Our office is only responsible for billing and collecting taxes. We do not set property values or determine millage rates — those are set by the Board of Tax Assessors, the county and school board. We appreciate your patience and respectful conduct toward our staff.

Our staff is ready for the 2025 tax season and we are here to serve each of you.
